About The Southport School
The Southport School (TSS) is a distinguished Anglican day and boarding school for boys located on the Nerang River banks in Gold Coast, Queensland. Established for over 125 years, the school is dedicated to fostering excellence in leadership, education, pastoral care, and extracurricular activities within a balanced Christian environment. It offers a vibrant year-round boarding, academic, cultural, and sporting program across two campuses.
Role Overview
We are seeking a professional administrator to join our senior campus Studies Department. This position demands versatility and adaptability along with a keen interest in learning all functions and responsibilities of the team. The successful candidate will handle multiple priorities across the department effectively.
- Assist students, parents, and staff with queries related to studies, including exam block coordination, external exam preparations, QCAA reporting, and LMS support using School Box.
- Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Deputy Head Senior School - Head of Learning and Teaching and manage specific duties involving QCAA administration and Learning Management System operations.
The role operates Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm during school terms (approximately 37 weeks annually), allowing for school holidays off.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive, with strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in data entry tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Capability to provide a professional front-line service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with school Learning Management Systems and QCAA processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Adaptability to evolving school work environments.

A valid or eligible paid blue card (working with children check) is mandatory, along with submission of a recent criminal background certificate prior to employment.
