Strategy & Analytics Associate, Regional Logistics

Overview

Shopee operates one of Southeast Asia's most extensive logistics networks, processing millions of shipments daily through its fulfillment centers, sorting facilities, linehaul transportation, and last-mile delivery services. This strategic role is part of the regional team responsible for shaping the future of this network by determining how to expand capacity, implement automation, and optimize parcel delivery speed and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop analytical frameworks to guide decisions on network capacity, cost-efficiency, delivery speed, and automation opportunities using real-world operational data.
• Create forecasting and optimization models, leveraging artificial intelligence tools such as large language models and autonomous agents to streamline data analysis and market intelligence gathering, focusing efforts on strategic judgment rather than data collection.
• Monitor the competitive landscape of Southeast Asia's logistics and e-commerce sectors, extracting actionable strategic insights that influence internal planning.
• Lead initiatives from conception to execution, including defining project scope, aligning cross-market stakeholders, implementing solutions, and evaluating impact against key performance metrics.
• Maintain regular engagement with operational units including warehouses, hubs, and sortation centers to ensure recommendations are practical and grounded in on-the-ground realities.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Computer Science, Operations Research), or other quantitative fields; a master's degree is a plus but not mandatory.
• At least 12 months of relevant experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain roles (internships count).
• Practical experience with AI technologies, preferably having developed or implemented machine learning models, or utilizing large language models or agent-based tools to automate tasks that deliver measurable outcomes.
• A team-oriented approach with strong collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, capable of expressing complex concepts clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing.
