About the Role
Uber Eats is transforming instant delivery, making dining effortless whether it's local food, groceries, or celebratory drinks. This platform offers endless choices to customers, expanding opportunities for merchants and delivery partners alike. We seek a highly capable professional to join our US & Canada Strategic Operations team, focused on creating innovative solutions for complex operational challenges. This position involves close collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
As a Strategic Operations Manager, you will formulate strategy and optimize delivery operations within a chosen vertical such as Consumer (Eater), Courier (supply partner), Marketplace, or Merchant. Leading impactful projects and experiments aimed at driving growth and operational efficiency will be a central function.
This role requires strong partnerships with Product, Local Operations, Finance, Marketing, Technology, and Customer Support departments to execute priority initiatives and measure outcomes effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously identify areas to enhance performance across your domain, such as expanding supply and demand, segmenting customers, improving merchant experience, or optimizing delivery operations.
- Define and scope solutions, take ownership of project delivery and outcomes, and report progress consistently to leadership.
- Ensure accountability for project results and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
- Conduct advanced data analysis, build models, and extract actionable insights to inform business decisions and policies.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership by establishing key metrics, developing dashboards, and sharing insights for long-term planning.
- Collaborate with Product teams to shape solution development aligned with business and customer needs, managing cross-functional rollouts across the US and Canada and setting performance indicators.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support to integrate insights that drive critical initiatives.
Qualifications
- At least 1.5 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, investment banking, technology, operations, strategy, or analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel or Google Sheets.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of professional experience in roles involving consulting, investment banking, strategy, operations, or analytics.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and SQL.
- Aptitude to excel in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Experience resolving complex problems with innovative solutions.
- Proven ability to design and execute intricate processes.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities, especially presenting data and insights to sophisticated audiences.
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis delivering detailed and measurable insights.
- Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, fostering trust-based relationships across teams.
- Robust business acumen and critical thinking, leveraging data to swiftly formulate strategies and decisions.
Additional Information
For Senior Roles Based in San Francisco, CA, the annual salary range is between USD 106000 and USD 118000. Candidates working in New York City have a similar pay band. Chicago, IL roles offer USD 95500 to USD 106000 yearly. Eligible full-time employees participate in Uber's bonus scheme, may receive equity awards and other compensation types, and have access to a 401(k) plan along with various benefits. While remote work is available, employees should generally work at least 50% from office spaces unless a full remote arrangement is approved. Certain roles may require full-time onsite presence.
