Role Overview
James Fisher and Sons plc invites applications for the position of Storeperson based in Caringbah, NSW. This permanent, full-time role requires undergoing security checks and involves active participation in supporting the Stores, Logistics, and Facilities departments. The key responsibilities include manual and system-driven inventory management tasks such as receiving, storing, controlling, distributing, and issuing various materials and equipment, while ensuring meticulous record-keeping and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking, packing, and processing sales, work, and transfer orders in a timely and accurate manner that aligns with customer needs.
- Receiving goods, verifying their quantity and condition against purchase orders, recording transactions in company systems, completing relevant documentation, and ensuring correct labelling and storage.
- Supporting inventory control by organizing materials in designated stock areas, maintaining precise ERP records, and guaranteeing proper packaging and storage.
- Performing stock cycle counts, reconciling actual inventory with system figures, and investigating inconsistencies to uphold stock accuracy.
- Using company vehicles for deliveries, collections, and various logistics activities, prioritizing safety and efficiency in transportation.
- Operating materials handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks according to safety standards and licensing requirements.
- Upholding cleanliness and orderliness across stores, warehousing, and yard areas, including site security and lock-up duties.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience with warehouse or inventory management systems to process inbound and outbound stock.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Forklift licence is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Experience in handling dangerous goods packaging is desirable.
- Knowledge of domestic and international export processes is advantageous.
