Role Overview
The Store Leader serves as the central figure in a store's success, supported by one or two assistants forming the management team. Together, they execute merchandising and marketing plans, boost profitability, develop team skills, and ensure excellent customer service. Many of the company's top managers began as cashiers or part-timers and progressed through dedication and comprehensive training.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee customer service delivery, training, and coaching for all store personnel.
- Drive employee retention by recruiting qualified candidates, developing leadership, motivating staff, and enhancing productivity.
- Manage merchandising and marketing initiatives within the store.
- Utilize profit and loss (P&L) reports and store performance data to implement operational improvements.
- Handle cash management, fuel sales transactions, and promote the store's loyalty rewards program.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety by adhering to health and sanitation standards, ensuring the store is well-stocked and presentable.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience in supervisory or management roles within retail environments preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate teams.
- Proficient with computer applications, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; candidates without these must have at least one year of retail management experience.
- Valid driver's license accompanied by maintained automotive liability insurance.
- Physical capability to multitask, including bending, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
