Job Overview
The Store Assistant plays a crucial role in managing daily store operations by handling receipt, storage, issuance, and accurate inventory management. This position ensures efficient material handling, timely stock movement, and compliance with company inventory control and warehouse safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantity and quality against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Systematically arrange, label, and store materials for easy access and identification.
- Distribute materials to production or other departments based on authorized requisitions.
- Maintain precise records of stock receipts, issue transactions, and balances using ERP systems or stock registers.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory levels and alert the Store In-Charge on shortages or surplus stock.
- Ensure safe and proper handling and storage of materials to avoid damage or loss.
- Prepare documentation such as Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and material issue slips.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to facilitate seamless material flow.
- Provide assistance in loading, unloading, packing, and dispatch tasks as needed.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, safety regulations, and inventory control procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate qualification is required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in stores, warehouse, or inventory management.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel and email.
- Understanding of inventory and warehouse management operations.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management software is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in work.
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
