Position Overview

The Stockperson / Cartpusher is essential in delivering a safe, orderly, and friendly shopping environment for customers by managing shopping carts efficiently around the store and parking premises. This role involves performing tasks in line with Walmart's standards to ensure smooth store operation while enhancing skills in customer service, teamwork, and retail processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve shopping carts from outside cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, returning them to designated storage areas following company-approved methods and documenting required logs accurately.
• Respond swiftly to customer and staff needs, including assisting with carry ins and carry outs and verifying customer purchase receipts when necessary.
• Carry out periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep while adhering to protocols for chemical use, disposal, and safe operation of power tools.
• Strictly follow all safety guidelines, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen protocols to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
• Promote workplace safety by using personal protective equipment like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, performing safety inspections, and complying with company policies to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
• Show flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and ensure continuous service quality.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage high workloads in a fast-moving setting, particularly during overnight shifts, while maintaining energy and focus.
• Handle physically demanding tasks involving prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive stocking and organization duties consistently to maintain store quality standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.15 CAD.
