Job description
Position Overview
The Stockperson / Cartpusher contributes significantly to creating a secure, orderly, and inviting shopping atmosphere for customers. Key duties include gathering shopping carts from various locations such as cart corrals, the parking area, and the store perimeter, then delivering them to assigned storage spots following approved protocols. This position emphasizes friendly interaction with customers and a commitment to safety, supporting effective store operations and fostering skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from designated areas and return them safely, accurately logging the activity as per company procedures.
- Respond quickly to requests from registers and customer service, assisting with carry-ins and carry-outs, and verifying purchase receipts when needed.
- Carry out occasional cleaning and upkeep tasks, including restroom maintenance, adhering to chemical handling, disposal, and equipment safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety and emergency protocols such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and managing bloodborne pathogens to ensure a safe space for customers and coworkers.
- Wear required personal protective gear like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, perform safety inspections, and maintain a hazard-free workplace by complying with company policies.
- Demonstrate schedule flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business demands.
Challenges in This Role
- Manage high volumes of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts that require staying alert and energized.
- Handle repetitive physical duties such as stocking and organizing while standing for long periods and lifting items up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.15.
