Position Overview

As a Solutions Architect within the MENA region team, you will serve as a trusted consultant to GitLab prospects and clients, assisting them in comprehending how GitLab’s comprehensive DevSecOps platform meets their technical and business goals throughout the software lifecycle. Your role will involve steering organizations through digital transformation from planning through monitoring by applying your technical expertise, cloud knowledge, modern development practices, and empathetic customer engagement. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect manager and collaborating closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams, you will lead technical evaluations including proofs of value and workshops, design solution architectures, and relay customer perspectives back to Product Management. Your efforts will focus on fostering robust platform adoption, driving revenue growth through solution selling, and cultivating enduring, trust-based relationships that highlight GitLab’s unique positioning in an AI-powered DevSecOps market.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and validation to demonstrate how GitLab’s AI-enhanced DevSecOps platform addresses both technical and business needs end-to-end.
• Own the technical evaluation processes—solution design, proof of concept/value initiatives, workshop planning, tenders, audits, and value stream analysis.
• Partner with regional sales teams to strategize and advance new customer acquisition and account expansion across MENA.
• Establish and nurture relationships with technical teams and business leaders, guiding their GitLab-driven transformation and turning them into platform advocates.
• Provide expert advice on modern software development, continuous integration/deployment, security, and cloud best practices, challenging outdated methodologies to maximize ROI.
• Represent the customer voice internally to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing through sharing feedback, use cases, and competitor insights that influence product roadmap and marketing positioning.
• Maintain and enhance your technical knowledge in GitLab technologies, DevSecOps, AI, and related cloud systems, developing reusable examples, best practices, and collateral for clients and partners.
• Pursue continuous professional growth through learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the Solutions Architect team.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or equivalent roles engaging with customers through solution design and evaluation.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end software lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with GitLab or similar source control and CI/CD platforms, ability to relate platform features to diverse customer scenarios.
• Working knowledge of cloud computing concepts and associated technologies, capable of discussing deployment, security, and operational strategies with technical audiences.
• Proven ability to lead technical evaluation activities such as PoCs/PoVs, tenders, audits, workshops, and value stream assessments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, adaptable to diverse audiences from engineers to senior business and technical leaders.
• Exceptional relationship-building abilities, empathetic listening, and acting as a customer advocate across internal teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development including mastering new technologies, deepening GitLab expertise, and leveraging transferable skills.

Team and Culture

The Solutions Architect team operates within GitLab’s Sales organization, providing technical leadership to Account Executives targeting MENA region opportunities. Our mission is to help customers leverage GitLab’s AI-driven DevSecOps platform fully by advising on architecture, managing technical evaluations, and guiding transformations. We collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, sharing knowledge asynchronously across geographies, producing best practices and reusable technical resources, and advocating customer needs. We focus on software delivery modernization, scalable GitLab adoption, and navigating the evolving AI and DevSecOps space.
