Role overview
Uber Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington. This is a full-time position, and the role may allow telecommuting.
Compensation and benefits
The annual pay range for this position is $153,000 to $169,000. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for Uber's bonus program and other forms of compensation, including equity. Uber also notes that, unless a full remote arrangement is approved, employees are generally expected to work from the office at least 50% of the time. Certain roles, including those based in greenlight hubs, may require being onsite full time.
Key responsibilities
The selected engineer will design, build, and test software applications using Uber's technology stack. The role involves using technical judgment to assess complex data, project developments, and technical challenges, then recommending practical solutions. You will help support business operations, improve engineering efficiency, develop software components for integration into complete systems, and address production issues affecting product and system reliability.
Required profile
Uber will consider candidates with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering in any discipline, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. The role calls for strong experience with programming, databases, distributed systems, debugging, and the software development lifecycle.
