Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications following defined processes and best practices including clean coding, DevOps, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and deepen understanding of customer and business needs.
• Participate in pair and mob programming sessions as well as peer code reviews to ensure code quality and on-time delivery.
• Build automated testing at multiple levels - unit, integration, end-to-end - and proactively resolve defects.
• Support and monitor live applications in accordance with support agreements.
• Contribute to cloud-native application development and migration of existing software to AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge across software layers including APIs, databases, UI/UX, and security throughout the software lifecycle.
• Engage in self-learning, training, knowledge-sharing, and support peers by offering guidance and coaching.
• Apply DevOps tools and practices, identify improvement opportunities, and engage in Scrum or Agile ceremonies with an agile mindset.
• Understand the product architecture and design rationale to contribute meaningfully to technical decisions and organizational initiatives.
• Adhere strictly to information security policies and compliance standards.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in software development focusing on AWS cloud-based distributed applications using Java and J2EE.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Fargate.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn TypeScript for AWS development with approximately 2 years of programming experience, plus at least six months experience with Snowflake.
• Strong foundation in Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
• Working knowledge of MVC frameworks like Spring and Java persistence frameworks including iBATIS, MyBatis, or Hibernate.
• Experience writing unit tests using JUnit and configuring application servers such as WebSphere or Apache.
• Familiarity with IDEs like Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or RAD.
• Knowledge of markup languages like XML and JSON.
• Understanding of UML, version control systems including ClearCase, SVN, or Git, and build tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Database understanding with SQL using RDBMS like Oracle or DB2.
• Familiarity with software delivery life cycles like Agile and SAFe.
