Job Overview
The Site Engineer is instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. Collaborating closely with the Project Manager and site team, the role involves guaranteeing that all operations follow project drawings, specifications, and health and safety regulations, while sustaining quality and timeline objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct setting out and site surveys utilizing appropriate surveying instruments.
- Verify that construction work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and relevant building codes.
- Track site progress and provide updates on project status.
- Manage coordination among subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff.
- Maintain precise site documentation, including daily logs and quality inspection records.
- Work with the design team to identify and solve technical challenges.
- Implement and uphold health and safety measures on site.
- Support quality control efforts, inspections, and the project handover process.
- Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction methodologies and Irish Building Regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety laws.
- Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Possession of a full, clean driving license.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction management software.
- Experience with Total Station and GPS surveying tools.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
- Previous exposure to construction site environments.
