About the Role
If you have a keen interest in electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics and want to be instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of wind turbines, this position is for you. Join us as a Service Technician and actively contribute to the global transition towards renewable energy. This role offers the opportunity to apply your electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic expertise while being part of a world-leading sustainable energy company. We provide comprehensive technical training ensuring our technicians are among the most skilled in the industry. Safety is integral to our operations and embedded in everyday tasks.
Work Locations and Schedule
- Positions available across regional Australia; note this is not a fly-in-fly-out role—you must reside within the region.
- Locations include WA (Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton), SA (Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier), VIC (Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale), NSW (Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes), QLD (Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton), and TAS (Musselroe, Granville Harbour).
- Typical workday comprises 8 hours, with on-call duties approximately once every 3-4 weeks over weekends.
- Annual travel estimated at 50 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards while achieving service targets.
- Conduct scheduled service inspections following company specifications, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic parts troubleshooting and replacement.
- Maintain turbine operations using condition monitoring and remote control systems.
- Manage service vehicle readiness and warehouse stock, ordering necessary tools, parts, and materials.
- Assemble and service components per standards and instructions, utilizing cranes if required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Trade qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic fields, with eagerness to enhance skills.
- Proficient computer skills and experience using tools and systems for work monitoring and documentation.
- Strong English communication abilities, both written and oral.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
