Service Engineer - Low-Voltage Switchgear Systems

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer specializing in low-voltage (LV) switchgear systems to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This role involves hands-on technical work, customer interaction, and delivering superior after-sales technical support within a leading engineering business group.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, commissioning, testing, and fault diagnosis of LV switchgear equipment at various customer locations.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance procedures to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Identify electrical and mechanical issues efficiently and apply suitable corrective measures.
• Respond swiftly to customer requests, unexpected equipment failures, and urgent service calls.
• Document service operations, inspections, and maintenance insights through detailed technical reports.
• Adhere strictly to company protocols, safety regulations, and industry standards during all service activities.
• Liaise effectively with clients, salespersons, and internal technical teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Perform equipment condition evaluations and suggest necessary repairs, upgrades, and spare parts procurement.
• Provide operational training and maintenance guidance to customers’ maintenance personnel.
• Develop comprehensive Operation & Maintenance manuals, training resources, and project handover documents.
• Assist in factory inspections and audits by supplying required technical documentation and support.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or an allied field.
• Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, and upkeep of LV switchgear systems.
• Strong capability in troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in electrical and mechanical domains.
• Familiarity with interpreting electrical schematics, technical specifications, and maintenance workflows.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a customer service-oriented approach.
• Proven ability to manage multiple service tasks independently and effectively.
• Willingness and availability for travel to client sites, including coverage of emergency service requirements.
