Job Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and scientifically knowledgeable Scientific Officer based in our Mumbai Corporate Office. This role involves managing product data, developing catalogues, and overseeing scientific information across various platforms. The position demands strong chemistry expertise and collaboration with multiple departments including Inventory, Marketing, Quality Assurance (QA), Purchase, and Digital teams to ensure precise product information and smooth business workflows.
Responsibilities
- Investigate daily product-related inquiries and provide accurate scientific insights to the Inventory team.
- Generate new or locate existing catalogue numbers for new products or requests.
- Validate the scientific accuracy of product data prior to catalogue creation and publication.
- Maintain comprehensive and updated scientific documentation for all products.
- Manage creation and updates of catalogue numbers on both the company website and internal systems regularly.
- Ensure product information completeness and correctness, including product name, image, category, catalogue number, CAS number, molecular weight, synonyms, chemical names/formulas, and stock status.
- Update scientific structures, watermarked images, and product specifications for existing catalogue entries.
- Conduct frequent reviews of website content to uphold scientific accuracy and consistency.
- Review, update, and verify scientific details on products released by QA, including chemical structures, molecular data, nomenclature, and specifications.
- Ensure alignment across laboratory documentation, ERP systems, and website content.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and product statuses reflecting real-time availability across all systems.
- Coordinate with Inventory and Operations teams for up-to-date product information.
- Offer scientific and technical support to Marketing and Purchase teams related to product details.
- Assist in preparing product descriptions, brochures, catalogues, and other technical documentation.
- Provide factually accurate scientific content for social media, launches, and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, Inventory, and Marketing departments to facilitate seamless management of product information.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong foundation in Chemistry, especially pharmaceutical product knowledge.
- Ability to interpret chemical structures and conduct scientific literature reviews.
- Familiarity with CAS numbers and chemical nomenclature conventions.
- Experience managing product catalogues and scientific writing.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel and database management.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
Educational Background
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (preferred).
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
- M.Tech. or M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Equivalent qualifications combined with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience are also considered.
