Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Senior in the insurance audit sector, you will develop and demonstrate expertise by:
- Building credible relationships with stakeholders by understanding their expectations and individual priorities.
- Ensuring delivery of high-quality audit services with awareness of relevant regulations and risk management impacts on business processes and controls.
- Researching key entity statistics and industry factors before engagements commence.
- Customizing referral instructions to specify audit scope and key focus areas.
- Comprehending group audit structures and the recipients of referral instructions.
- Communicating effectively with onshore and offshore Centers of Excellence, recognizing their responsibilities and ensuring accurate information sharing.
- Monitoring deliverables from component auditors and evaluating their significance.
- Timely linking of risks, controls, procedures, and findings across the Engagement Management System (EMS).
- Articulating audit quality milestones, understanding their role in audit completeness, and contributing to overall audit quality.
- Challenging audit planning schedules proactively to optimize timing.
- Preparing thorough documentation anticipating reviewer inquiries, distinguishing accounting from auditing judgments and conclusions.
- Developing cross-functional relationships beyond finance to better understand the business and apply professional skepticism.
- Having practical knowledge of engagement lifecycle risks, regulatory environments, and relevant firm policies.
- Applying artificial intelligence tools in audits to increase efficiency and quality, including fundamental prompt engineering and structured problem-solving.
- Employing professional skepticism when utilizing AI-generated outputs—validating accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before incorporation into audit workpapers.
- Understanding responsible AI practices, including governance and risk controls, confidentiality, data integrity, and authorized use of firm-specific AI tools.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- Over 4 years of auditing and public accounting experience, preferably with a large audit firm.
- Possession of an international accounting certification such as SOCPA, CA, ACCA, or CPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking); bilingual capabilities in Arabic and English are advantageous.
