About PwC Ireland Customs Team

Our customs division is the premier source of expertise in customs, excise, and international trade within Ireland, serving clients across diverse industries such as chemical, industrial, retail, pharmaceutical, agriculture, food and beverage, healthcare, software, and technology sectors worldwide.

Role Overview

Global trade and customs are undergoing transformative changes driven by governments' increasing reliance on indirect taxation, ongoing trade disputes, and the evolution of supply chains. This role focuses on supporting clients in navigating these challenges, ensuring that products remain competitive despite fluctuating customs duties and regulatory complexities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a dynamic and evolving portfolio of clients with opportunities to lead and expand your own portfolio.
  • Develop deep expertise in global trade and customs regulations and practices.
  • Engage with complex cross-border projects involving export licensing, sanctions, and trade agreements.
  • Drive adoption of digital transformation initiatives within the team and client engagements.
  • Support client relationship management, contribute to business development, and participate in consultancy projects.
  • Efficiently manage personal assignments within a flexible work environment under guidance from senior management.
  • Advance your professional career with possibilities for specialization and international travel.
  • Mentor and guide trainees, fostering autonomy and promoting impactful results.
  • Contribute positively to the workplace culture and uphold the organisation's learning values.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in global trade and customs roles.
  • A strong academic background with a degree in accounting, economics, finance, or law.
  • Business acumen to analyse market trends and advise clients on innovative business strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining diverse professional relationships.
  • Creativity in problem-solving and generating novel solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for coaching and supporting others’ growth.
  • Ambition demonstrated through commitment to continuous personal development.
