About the Role
Join Parsons in Qatar as a Senior Architectural Engineer within our Construction Supervision Consultant team. This role contributes to delivering a prestigious luxury hospitality and entertainment project featuring immersive attractions, world-class hospitality, premier retail, and leisure venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee construction, installation, finishing, and handover of architectural components including luxury hospitality spaces, themed architecture, façades, rockwork, specialty finishes, and public realm features.
- Ensure compliance with Contract Documents, IFC drawings, specifications, design intent, and relevant codes throughout construction.
- Conduct thorough reviews of shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, method statements, RFIs, and inspection requests related to architectural work.
- Supervise installation of architectural finishes such as façades, roofing, waterproofing, cladding, interior and decorative elements, and guest-facing environments.
- Provide expert oversight for themed architectural environments including rockwork, scenic elements, and specialty finishes critical to immersive entertainment experiences.
- Maintain consistency in detailing, materials, workmanship, and overall guest experience, verifying adherence to approved designs.
- Coordinate architectural interfaces with other disciplines — structural, civil, MEP, fire and life safety, landscape, ride systems, shows, and specialist vendors.
- Attend inspections and approvals of mock-ups, material installations, façade and waterproofing testing, ensuring quality standards.
- Identify and manage construction quality issues, initiating corrective measures with contractors and quality teams.
- Assist Resident Engineer with evaluating variations, technical clarifications, and site instructions pertinent to architectural scope.
- Work closely with operators, suppliers, designers, and commissioning staff to meet operational, aesthetic, and functional goals of guest environments.
- Support snagging, substantial completion, handover inspections, and Defects Liability Period activities documenting architectural work progress.
- Review as-built documentation, maintenance manuals, warranties ensuring completeness and project compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection logs, progress updates, and recommendations for project leadership.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or related field.
- Eligible or preferably registered professional architect or engineer.
- At least 12 years of experience in architectural supervision on major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use or destination projects.
- Demonstrated experience in construction supervision or resident engineering roles within multidisciplinary large-scale developments.
- Proven track record managing themed entertainment projects, luxury resorts, integrated destinations or cultural attractions.
- Strong expertise in supervising architectural finishes, façades, waterproofing, specialty cladding, scenic and themed architectural construction.
- Experience with mock-ups, façade testing, commissioning support, and facilitating operational readiness and handover.
- Prior Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) work experience favorable.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Deep understanding of architectural engineering principles, construction supervision, and contract compliance for hospitality and entertainment projects.
- Proficiency in architectural detailing, building envelope systems, roofing, waterproofing, interior finishes, specialty claddings, and public realm design elements.
- Expertise in themed architecture, scenic construction, immersive environments and related specialty finishes enhancing entertainment destinations.
- Knowledge of construction inspections, shop drawing review, material approval processes, mock-ups, façade testing, and quality assurance.
- Strong coordination abilities among contractors, architects, themed designers, specialist vendors, operators, consultants, and commissioning teams.
- Analytical aptitude for problem-solving construction and quality issues and resolving architectural interface conflicts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with effective reporting capabilities.
- Ability to interpret IFC architectural drawings, specifications, finish schedules, shop drawings, and handover documentation.
- Superior organizational skills to manage multiple priorities ensuring quality, safety, timelines, and contractual adherence.
- Capability to operate effectively within large multidisciplinary construction environments focused on architectural excellence and successful handover.
