Self Checkout Attendant

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Self Checkout Attendant offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills within the retail sector. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience, primarily by assisting shoppers with transactions in the self-checkout area.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the self-checkout zone, ensuring the space is free from clutter, debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
• Guide and educate customers on properly and efficiently using self-service checkout options when needed.
• Promote company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives as appropriate.
• Monitor customers' activities vigilantly to identify when assistance is required.
• Conduct self-service interventions and quality checks diplomatically, explaining their necessity and reassuring customers that such procedures are standard protocol.
• Handle EAS alarms knowledgeably and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" Log as necessary.
• Contact the Customer Service Manager for issues like cash shortages or technical problems in the self-service area.
• Ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated charging stations after use.

Compensation

The pay rate for this job starts at $16.65 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
