About the Role
Joining Walmart Canada as a Self Checkout Attendant offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service expertise. This role involves assisting customers with self-service checkout processes while ensuring a welcoming and efficient shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the self-checkout area in a tidy, orderly, and safe condition by removing unnecessary items and spills.
- Guide and educate customers on the proper and effective usage of self-service checkout stations as needed.
- Advertise and support Walmart's featured programs, such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns, whenever applicable.
- Monitor customer activity at self-checkout to identify when assistance is required.
- When interventions or quality checks are necessary, communicate courteously with customers to explain the process and reassure them that these procedures are standard practice.
- Be knowledgeable in handling Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and properly documenting any 'Failure to Deactivate' incidents in the log.
- Alert the Customer Service Manager promptly if the self-service area experiences cash shortages or technical difficulties.
- Ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage area after customer use.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old.
