About the Role
Join Tauranga City Council as a SAP Functional Specialist and leverage your expertise to address complex business problems, impact meaningful change, and contribute to a growing New Zealand city. You will work within a multifaceted SAP environment, influencing solutions, enhancing business processes, and shaping future digital strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with business units to comprehend requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs into sustainable SAP solutions.
- Configure, test, implement, and provide ongoing support for SAP functions and upgrades.
- Support projects, business process improvements, and system enhancement programs.
- Offer specialized SAP advice and troubleshooting within your domain.
- Work cooperatively with vendors, partners, and internal teams to achieve successful implementations.
- Contribute to documentation, standardization, testing, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Share knowledge and collaborate to ensure effective service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Established experience in at least one SAP module or business domain such as Finance (FICO), Procurement and Project Accounting, PSCD, REFX, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Service Cloud, Business Technology Platform (BTP), Integration Suite, or other S/4HANA functional modules.
- Proven track record as a SAP Functional Specialist or Consultant in complex organizational environments.
- Competent in business analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Effective relationship-building skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience in system enhancements, projects, or process optimization.
- Strong problem-solving ability with practical and durable solution focus.
- Collaborative working approach supporting knowledge sharing and team success.
- Advantageous experience includes SAP S/4HANA, cloud solutions, integrations, Agile methodologies, involvement with public sector or large enterprise settings.
