Role Overview
The Sanitation Technician II is responsible for executing a range of complex cleaning and sanitizing activities to maintain exceptional hygiene standards within the facility and warehouse. This role demands advanced knowledge of sanitation practices and equipment compared to the Sanitation Technician I position. Additionally, the Technician II will mentor less experienced colleagues and handle more sophisticated cleaning operations.
Key Duties
- Execute advanced sanitation tasks, including deep cleaning of production zones, specialized equipment cleansing, and the use of dedicated sanitizing chemicals.
- Oversee sanitation supplies inventory, making sure stock is ample and properly stored.
- Operate and upkeep a broad spectrum of cleaning machinery like floor scrubbers, high-pressure washers, and steam cleaners.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation protocols and identify maintenance or cleanliness issues.
- Provide training and supervision to Sanitation Technician I employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety guidelines.
- Support the creation and application of sanitation routines and policies.
- Diagnose minor equipment problems and conduct basic repairs and maintenance.
- Follow all safety rules, company policies, and sanitation standards such as HACCP and GMP strictly.
- Report any safety risks, maintenance needs, or sanitation problems swiftly to supervisors.
- Ensure environmentally responsible disposal of waste and recyclable materials.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED essential.
- Between zero to two years or more of relevant experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Skillful in operating diverse cleaning equipment, including specialized devices like floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and steam cleaners.
- Capability to train and mentor junior sanitation staff.
- Thorough knowledge of safety legislation and sanitation standards such as OSHA, HACCP, and GMP.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene.
- Competent in troubleshooting minor equipment faults and performing routine maintenance.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Up to 25% travel may be required.
