Job description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sanitary Sewer Systems Technician to manage the functioning, upkeep, inspection, and repairs of sanitary sewer infrastructure. This role is key to maintaining safe and effective wastewater management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and inspect sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and related wastewater systems.
- Diagnose and solve complex plumbing and sewer issues such as blockages, leaks, and pipe failures.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize emergencies and service interruptions.
- Handle and operate specialized equipment like jetting trucks, vacuum trucks, video inspection cameras, and pipe locators.
- Ensure all operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local wastewater regulations and safety standards.
- Keep detailed logs of all maintenance, inspections, and repairs carried out.
- Respond promptly to emergency sewer service requests, including off-hours incidents.
- Cooperate with team members, contractors, and the public to execute sewer system projects safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety guidelines including confined space entry protocols and hazardous materials handling.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification as a Master or Journeyman Plumber mandatory.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in wastewater or sanitary sewer system work.
- Thorough understanding of wastewater treatment processes, sewer maintenance techniques, and plumbing codes.
- Experienced in operating sewer inspection and maintenance technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
Additional Requirements
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
- Possession of a valid U.S. Passport is preferred.
- Must meet USCENTCOM deployment policies as per USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN guidelines.
- Ability to obtain and sustain a residency visa for Qatar.
- Capacity to work in harsh environmental conditions including dust exposure and high temperatures.
- Physically capable of enduring extended working hours, and exposure to hazardous conditions and weather.
Work Conditions
Position requires 100% travel to deployed locations. The candidate must maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance throughout employment.
