Job description
Company Overview
koppla creates the next-generation collaborative scheduling platform designed for the construction industry, enabling project managers to execute projects on time by identifying delays and disruptions before they impact the schedule. Supported by notable venture capitalists and experienced business angels, koppla aims to digitize and solve long-standing inefficiencies in a traditionally underserved market.
Our culture emphasizes deliberate growth, transparency, respect, and collaboration, striving to build a small, strong team focused on creating an outstanding product rather than pursuing rapid hypergrowth. We take inspiration from companies like Netflix, Ashby, and Linear.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) based in Berlin to advance their sales career with a strong communication aptitude. This role involves proactive cold calling to identify needs and qualify meetings, coupled with creative strategies to engage target customers. You'll join a focused team with an experienced mentor (VP Revenue), gaining comprehensive outbound sales training from lead qualification through to new customer acquisition, typically preparing you for progression to an Account Executive role within 12-18 months. Alternative career opportunities like Customer Success are also available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently conduct lead research and systematic cold calls to build a robust outbound pipeline, consistently providing qualified sales opportunities to the sales team.
- Develop sales expertise by managing the full sales development process from initial research to qualified leads, laying the groundwork for a career in sales.
- Qualify and engage high-potential B2B prospects in the mid-market segment, converting cold contacts into warm sales opportunities for Account Executives.
- Enhance communication skills by refining your approach through each cold call and email campaign, persuading decision-makers of our solution's value.
- Utilize contemporary sales tools including HubSpot, Lusha, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to manage the entire lead lifecycle and build valuable technical proficiencies.
- Collaborate on strategy by testing new outreach approaches, optimizing processes, and gaining strategic experience that prepares you for further career development.
Candidate Profile
- Some prior sales experience is necessary, whether from internships, student work, or early professional roles, with familiarity in B2B sales interactions.
- A strong desire to take responsibility for your own success and performance in a measurable way.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills that enable you to clearly present ideas and motivate others, even without prior relationships.
- An entrepreneurial mindset seeking to actively contribute, innovate, and discover effective methods rather than just completing tasks.
- A long-term commitment to growing within sales, either as a career switcher or progressing professional looking for a strategic entry point or next step.
- Fluent in German and comfortable communicating in English for internal coordination.
Compensation
The expected on-target earnings (OTE) range from €65,000 to €80,000 annually, with a variable commission split of 25-35% paid monthly. In addition, 5% of your fixed salary is granted as equity.
Location and Work Model
This role is based in Berlin, embracing a hybrid work model requiring presence in the office three or more days per week. Candidates open to relocating to Berlin are welcome. The office is dog-friendly and provides free lunch, beverages, and snacks, along with a home office budget at the start.
Benefits
- Ownership in the company through tax-efficient equity grants.
- Company culture centered on transparency, respect, personal responsibility, collaboration, and employee well-being during this exciting journey.
- Work-life and family integration through 28 days annual leave, flexible working hours, workation opportunities, and hybrid working arrangements.
- Personal professional development budget of €1,500 per year and a 30% company contribution to retirement plans.
- Additional perks including Urban Sports Club membership, 50% subsidy on public transport job tickets, and a home office allowance.
Additional Information
- Open to applicants of all genders.
