Role Overview
We are searching for a detail-driven and technically proficient Retail Design Documenter to join our Store Development team based in Melbourne. This role centers on creating and maintaining Revit models and documentation to support new store launches, relocations, refurbishments, and flagship projects across Australia. Collaborating with internal teams and external consultants, you will ensure precise, coordinated documentation that aligns with UNIQLO’s global design standards, operational needs, customer experience principles, and commercial goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update Revit models and documentation for retail projects.
- Support feasibility analyses, test fits, and design development for new and existing locations.
- Integrate architectural, consultant, and supplier data into Revit models and documentation sets.
- Guarantee accuracy, consistency, and compliance of project documents per standards.
- Troubleshoot design and documentation challenges throughout projects.
- Create innovative, functional, and appealing retail designs enhancing customer experience and business objectives.
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D visualizations for consultant communication.
- Collaborate with teams including Store Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing to align designs with business needs, budget, and timelines.
- Coordinate with external architects, consultants, landlords, and contractors when necessary.
- Contribute to evolving Revit families, templates, and documentation protocols.
- Apply "store of the future" principles to develop designs responding to evolving retail trends and customer behavior.
- Manage all project lifecycle phases from concept to completion ensuring compliance and brand standards.
- Handle multiple concurrent projects adhering to deadlines and priorities.
- Continuously review and refine store designs incorporating feedback from operations, customers, and market insight.
- Travel as required for project involvement and site inspections across all project stages.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Building Design, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in retail design, architectural drafting or documentation.
- Background in retail, commercial, or multi-site rollout projects.
- Exposure to large-format commercial, roadside, or mixed-use development external projects.
- Proficiency with Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working within BIM processes and environments.
- Advanced skills in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, rendering tools, with experience generating comprehensive documentation packages.
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation standards and drawing principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for articulating design intents to stakeholders.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
- Keen attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant info and solving documentation issues.
- Deep understanding of architectural design process, retail design trends, construction materials, building codes, and NCC/BCA compliance.
