Overview
Aterio seeks a Research Analyst to join its Data Center team in Vancouver, focusing on the global expansion of hyperscale and cloud infrastructures. This pivotal role supports investment strategies for hedge funds, asset managers, and technology firms by delivering insightful data on data center and digital infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and evaluate data center capacity, power usage, and infrastructure developments of major hyperscalers and cloud providers worldwide, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Meta, and Oracle.
- Develop and update detailed financial and market models to analyze capital expenditure trends, capacity development, and investment moves across the industry.
- Analyze earnings calls, regulatory reports, industry news, and public disclosures from hyperscalers and infrastructure companies to extract critical insights.
- Generate timely, well-sourced research notes and comprehensive market intelligence for internal teams and client distribution.
- Spot and track emerging trends impacting AI infrastructure, cloud networking, GPU demand, and power limitations that influence the sector.
- Collaborate with the Data Center team to provide data-driven insights and answers to investment-related queries from institutional clients.
- Maintain and enhance Aterio's exclusive datasets and dashboards related to data center inventory, capacity metrics, and company profiles.
- Support ad hoc research initiatives and contribute to client deliverables as the team expands its coverage.
Qualifications
- Experience in equity research or a closely related field in industry or investment research.
- Familiarity with hyperscalers and major cloud providers along with their infrastructure ecosystems.
- One to four years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Residency in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Preferred Skills
- Direct exposure to data center, power, or digital infrastructure markets.
- Knowledge of capacity and capital expenditure analysis frameworks commonly used in technology or industrial equity research.
- Proficiency working with large datasets and analytical tools such as Excel or Power BI.

Compensation
