Role Overview
This full-time remote position requires a Freight Broker to oversee freight coordination across North America. Responsibilities include acquiring new clients, negotiating freight rates, managing carrier partnerships, and ensuring shipment coverage from pickup until delivery. The role involves daily quoting of shipments, updating transportation management systems with load details, tracking freight in transit, and proactively addressing any service disruptions.
The role also demands meticulous documentation upkeep, compliance with regulations and safety standards, and collaboration with internal teams to improve routing, cost-efficiency, and service quality. Successful candidates will provide timely communications and tailored logistics solutions while working autonomously in a remote setting.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage operations, including load matching, route planning, and carrier management.
- Proven sales and customer relations abilities, encompassing prospecting, rate negotiation, account handling, and client retention.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting logistics options, managing conflicts professionally, and keeping customers and carriers informed.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a remote environment with effective time management and multitasking.
- Prior freight brokerage, transportation, or logistics experience specifically related to North American trucking or third-party logistics (3PL).
