Role Overview

The Regional Manager is responsible for steering day-to-day operations across the region, managing budgets, and setting performance goals for managers in line with the direction provided by the COO, CEO, and Board of Directors.

Core Responsibilities

This position focuses on improving operational effectiveness, strengthening leadership across locations, and ensuring the region supports the company’s broader financial and service objectives.

  • Set operational targets for the region and individual locations in collaboration with the COO.
  • Support location managers in planning seasonal and operational staffing so work is assigned efficiently and market needs are met.
  • Partner with the COO, CFO, and CEO to build the annual fixed asset budget and guide discussions around fixed asset decisions at the location level.
  • Run departmental planning and reporting meetings to improve communication and support ongoing operational work.
  • Work with Human Resources leaders to create future training and cross-training plans that help build the next generation of leaders.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Oversee regional operations while following standardized company procedures.
  • Set, track, and evaluate performance against the company’s 4-pillar goals and overall business objectives.
  • Strengthen customer service by making sure services contribute to CFE’s financial goals.
  • Coach, develop, and hold managers accountable for their responsibilities.
  • Help managers fully understand and own the scope of the location manager role.
  • Model integrity and ethical behavior as a standard for the organization.

Safety, Policy, and Compliance

  • Follow cooperative policies at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure managers maintain maintenance and safety practices that meet or exceed legal requirements.
  • Attend employee safety meetings and other scheduled safety activities as required with the Safety Director or location leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a college degree, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills are needed, along with the ability to work across multiple software platforms.

A background of at least 3 years in the grain industry, agribusiness, or a related field is required. The role also calls for strong people skills, clear written and verbal communication, and a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

This job requires regular use of hands and communication through talking and hearing. Frequent walking and reaching are part of the role, along with occasional standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The position may require lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
