Established in 2020 and based in Pune, BiofuelCircle is developing a technology-driven bioenergy supply chain that supports biomass, biofuels, and related bio-based products. Its platform links farmers, rural collaborators, and industry consumers by integrating digital tools with physical infrastructure, enhancing the reliability and scalability of biomass supply. Operating across 10 Indian states, the company hosts over 75 Biomass Banks, partners with 160,000+ farmers and 3,000+ rural collaborators, and services 2,000+ business clients, managing infrastructure for over one million metric tonnes of biomass. The firm targets expanding to 1,000+ Biomass Banks, 300 processing plants, and a biomass throughput of 20 million tonnes annually.

Role Overview

This role requires spending roughly 70% of time in the field and 30% in the office, necessitating frequent travel throughout Maharashtra. The incumbent will oversee the end-to-end purchasing cycle, including supplier identification, contract negotiations, relationship management, and ensuring timely receipt of quality goods at competitive rates. This position is crucial within the supply chain to deliver cost-effective procurement aligned with quality and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement plans by working with internal teams to assess purchasing requirements and specifications, monitoring stock levels and initiating timely orders.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery timelines, and service, negotiate vendor contracts, maintain supplier relations, monitor performance, and address quality or delivery issues.
• Create and oversee purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and punctual follow-ups; manage documentation of procurement transactions and contracts.
• Supervise budgets related to procurement, ensuring compliance with spending scopes; collaborate with finance for invoicing and payments; identify and implement cost optimization strategies.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, legal standards, and industry regulations in procurement; maintain organized records and perform audits to guarantee process integrity and compliance.
• Compile and deliver regular reports detailing procurement activities, expenditures, vendor performance, and suggestions for process enhancements and cost reductions; track procurement KPIs.
• Work collaboratively with production, operations, logistics, and other departments to promote seamless supply chain operations and efficient product receipt and delivery.

Additional Information

This position is predominantly field-based with considerable mobility across Maharashtra. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel. Educational qualifications suitable for this role include a B.B.A. or B.M.S. in Supply Chain Management or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
