Position Overview
Due to ongoing expansion, new contract awards, and a robust project pipeline, a leading multi-disciplinary construction and civil engineering company in Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This role involves managing residential projects located in Limerick, with a focus on NEC contract administration and civil engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control all project-related expenditures to keep within planned budgets.
- Develop and review cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for assigned projects.
- Administer NEC contracts, interpret contract clauses precisely, handle early warnings effectively, and evaluate compensation events.
- Assess and manage contract variations and claims ensuring compliance with NEC contract procedures and prompt issue resolution.
- Perform cost analyses and risk assessments for active projects.
- Lead procurement activities, engage in subcontractor negotiation, and oversee subcontractor performance management.
- Compile, prepare, and communicate comprehensive reports detailing financial status of projects.
- Ensure all operations comply with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Support contract documentation preparation and manage variations as needed.
Required Qualifications & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional quantity surveying experience, particularly within Civil Engineering projects.
- In-depth understanding of construction contract law, cost control methods, and procurement processes.
- Demonstrable expertise with NEC contracts is mandatory.
- Skilled user of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office software packages.
- Strong analytical abilities combined with effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with negotiation skills.
- Capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging between 60000 and 70000 Euros, depending on experience.
