About the role
ORS is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for commercial support across projects in multiple sectors. In this position, you will work alongside ORS Project Managers, clients, and outside consultants to help deliver projects successfully. The role offers an opportunity to move into a wider consultancy-focused position within a multidisciplinary setting, with trust, guidance, and collaboration available from the start.
Key responsibilities
- Lead cost planning, estimates, and the development of budgets.
- Prepare tender packs and review submitted tenders.
- Support procurement activity and the appointment of subcontractors.
- Produce valuations, cost reports, and forward-looking financial forecasts.
- Review, negotiate, and settle variations and final accounts.
- Assist with contract administration and broader commercial risk control.
- Work closely with ORS Project Managers and client-side teams.
Essential requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or an equivalent qualification.
- Between 2 and 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience in quantity surveying.
- Background in either consultancy or contractor settings.
- Solid understanding of commercial matters and contract principles.
- Working knowledge of Buildsoft/Cubit, Microsoft Excel, and cost reporting documents.
- Experience measuring complete Bills of Quantities in line with the current Agreed Rules of Measurement.
- Strong communication and organisational ability.
- Irish project experience.
