Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Quality Lead to oversee audit processes of work orders versus the items produced on designated machines during scheduled continental day shifts in Milton, Ontario. This role involves full quality assurance support and any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and spot-check production documents to confirm materials match the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Continuously monitor production lines to verify product quality conformity.
  • Conduct required product testing according to sample protocols and in-process inspection points registered in the SAP system.
  • Document inspection results such as weight, visual checks, functionality, and batch data during production.
  • Complete initial first off sample procedures.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and corrective actions addressing nonconformities and customer complaints.
  • Ensure production staff receive adequate training on Quality Assurance and identify further training needs to support quality initiatives.
  • Provide coverage for other quality roles during absences or vacations as needed, including on different shifts.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Fundamental skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both spoken and written.
  • A self-motivated individual who can multitask effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across multiple functional teams.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and a constructive team-oriented attitude.

Shift and Scheduling Information

  • 12-hour continental day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Shift rotation includes seven shifts within a two-week cycle: Week 1 on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2 on Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Total break time of 60 minutes per shift.

Educational and Experience Credentials

  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Prior experience in quality assurance is advantageous.
