Public Health Epidemiologist

Position Overview

The Public Health Epidemiologist will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing epidemiologic investigations and surveillance operations. This role involves identifying disease etiologies and implementing efficient control strategies. The incumbent will collect, examine, and interpret statistical information and draft detailed epidemiologic reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct comprehensive investigations and surveillance to track disease patterns.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret epidemiological and statistical data.
• Develop and present detailed epidemiologic reports.
• Provide training, technical support, and expert consultation in epidemiology and disease control efforts.
• Facilitate timely disease intervention programs to minimize the spread of communicable diseases.

Minimum Qualifications

Possess a Master’s degree in Public Health or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, OR hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college/university coupled with at least two years of relevant epidemiologic or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health or a similar field with professional experience in epidemiology.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing public health surveillance and comprehensive outbreak investigations.
• Proven ability to implement disease control initiatives and interventions effectively.
• Excellent presentation and communication capabilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software applications.
