Company Overview
CRKC Construction is a trade contractor based in Ontario, engaged in large-scale residential and commercial projects throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada. The company specializes in self-performing multiple interior and exterior trades including metal framing, insulation, drywall, taping, painting, siding, and cladding using its own workforce. CRKC focuses on delivering comprehensive turnkey construction packages, fostering repeat collaborations with general contractors and developers.
Role Summary
This position is primarily field-oriented, requiring the manager's presence alongside crews at project locations most of the time. The role is headquartered in Toronto but involves travel to various project sites in different cities and provinces, often in multi-week stints with provided accommodations and travel expenses covered. The project manager is responsible for the entire project lifecycle from award to completion, encompassing scope management, scheduling, budgeting, and directing field operations to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop daily production plans and oversee crew operations.
- Coordinate the sequence of work from framing through to finishing stages.
- Interpret drawings and specifications relative to contract scope.
- Manage procurement logistics and site material staging.
- Enforce site safety protocols and maintain quality standards as per contract.
- Liaise with general contractors on-site and uphold relationships.
- Monitor costs and production progress against estimates.
- Identify change orders, manage scope adjustments, and assist with progress billing.
Qualifications & Skills
- Extensive experience in construction project management or site supervision, preferably within interior metal framing, drywall, taping, painting, or cladding trades.
- Practical trade experience with the ability to lead by example and set performance standards.
- Proven track record of managing production schedules, budgets, and scopes on commercial or multi-unit residential projects.
- Competence in reading architectural and structural plans and spotting scope or change discrepancies.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code along with health and safety standards including Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools and document control processes.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including to Atlantic Canada for prolonged assignments.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Effective communication and negotiation capabilities with contractors, site teams, consultants, and suppliers.
