About the Company and Project
HEB Construction, a prominent civil engineering firm affiliated with VINCI Construction, undertakes complex infrastructure developments throughout New Zealand. Their operations include building bridges, wharves, piling, precast concrete elements, and related civil works.
The current focus is the Ōtaki to North Levin project, a critical upgrading of State Highway 1 between Ōtaki and North Levin. The objective is to enhance road safety, ease congestion, improve travel efficiency, and promote regional economic growth.
This initiative is a cooperative effort between the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, the Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga hapū, and Horowhenua District Council. The project is divided into two alliance-managed sections, each tasked with delivery of roadways and associated infrastructure.
The project involves creating a four-lane 24.8 km highway with major safety and resilience improvements, increased pedestrian and cycle access in Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts, multiple complex bridge constructions, a full interchange at Taraua Road, a half interchange north at Taylors Road, two roundabouts, about 4 million cubic meters of intricate earthworks, substantial drainage facilities, and a structural asphalt concrete pavement.
