Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Professional Tutor to conduct online tutoring sessions, primarily focusing on SAT/ACT test preparation and executive function coaching. This role provides the stability of a W-2 employee with paid training and preparation time, leveraging a comprehensive curriculum and resources designed to ease lesson planning. As a tutor, you’ll have a meaningful impact on students’ academic success from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging tutoring sessions, including standardized test preparation and coaching executive function skills (90%).
• Communicate with students and their families regarding educational progress and feedback (5%).
• Use company-provided materials and resources efficiently to plan sessions (5%).

Schedule & Commitment

• Minimum availability of 38 hours per week, with a goal of delivering 30 tutoring hours weekly.
• Schedule includes weekday afternoons and evenings plus at least 8 weekend hours.
• Prime-time hours: Monday-Thursday 3-11 pm ET, Friday 3-7 pm ET, Saturday 9 am-7 pm ET, Sunday 9 am-10 pm ET.
• Preference for tutors who can schedule consistent weekly hours 9+ months in advance.
• Time-off requests require a four-week advance notice.

Compensation

• Starting pay of $25 per hour for tutoring sessions, with potential increase to $29 per hour after 90 days based on performance and subject expertise.
• Preparation and training time paid at either $10 per hour or local minimum wage, whichever is higher.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completion mandatory; higher degrees or certifications advantageous.
• Authorization to work and current residence in the U.S. required.
• At least one year of experience in teaching or tutoring; expertise in AP STEM subjects preferred.
• Competency in tutoring math through Algebra II.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional workspace are necessary; technology kits including webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and annotation tablet can be provided.
• Commitment to consistent weekly availability and at least one year tenure in the role.
• Computer requirements: Mac OS X 10.6 or later or Windows 8.1 or later, with at least 4GB RAM and ethernet internet connection.
• Completion of a comprehensive background check required.
