Job description
Role Overview
The Production Planning Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of heavy maintenance checks on airframes. This role involves close collaboration with the production team, engineers, sales personnel, and daily operations management, providing support to help them efficiently complete their tasks in compliance with national and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create material requests using the ERP system.
- Analyze outstanding project tasks and deliver detailed status updates.
- Track and manage the flow of task cards, both physical copies and digital versions.
- Oversee requests for external services related to the project.
- Develop, manage, and control project plans effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive final reports upon project completion.
- Coordinate with OEM technical support departments and act as a liaison.
- Facilitate daily progress meetings to monitor ongoing work.
- Engage with customers by attending meetings to provide updates on project status.
- Continuously support the production department with material requirements and relevant project information.
- Participate actively in lean projects to improve processes.
- Respond promptly to customer requests.
- Manage coordination of aircraft parts robbing activities.
- Ensure accurate archiving of project documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in airframe maintenance environments, preferably in base maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in production planning.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to use ERP systems.
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong analytical skills, including capability to analyze and interpret data.
- Ability to develop and execute practical, actionable plans.
- Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, assertive, and proactive approach to work.
