Procurement Manager

Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Procurement Manager serves as the principal buyer and supplier liaison, responsible for managing all packaged goods procurement with potential oversight of raw materials. This role includes systematic inventory control, forecasting analysis, and applying best purchasing strategies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Cycle Counting Program and Annual Physical Inventory processes, including analysis and reconciliation of inventory counts through audits for relevant materials.
• Lead procurement efforts for packaged goods, raw materials such as packing supplies, trays, raw ingredients including CO2, boiler water, glycol, and maintenance and equipment supplies linked to the operations budget and forecasts.
• Ensure inventory level targets and controls are met by collaborating closely with Operations management to detect material trends and explore opportunities.
• Partner with the Head Brewer to establish raw material inventory utilization targets and reporting frameworks.
• Implement optimal purchasing practices by sourcing quotes, preparing price analyses, and making recommendations.
• Negotiate material purchases for the best price while satisfying operational needs and securing purchase order approvals prior to acquisition.
• Maintain proactive communication with various departments to uphold material quality and lead corrective action initiatives with suppliers when necessary.
• Take active ownership in the critical path team's purchasing functions.
• Engage in networking to uncover potential supplier relationships, foster current supplier connections, and identify cost savings, quality enhancements, and new materials.
• Keep accurate records of material specifications, monitor order alignment to those standards, and address any supplier or finance-related accounting issues.
• Generate procurement reports and ensure all documentation is current.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to product receipt, weight, and supplier deliveries.
• Support the supply chain management team as backup and participate actively in relevant projects.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• At least 5 years of advancing experience within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing environment, demonstrating expertise in inventory management and purchasing processes.
• Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other MS Office applications such as Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, focused on customer service internally and externally.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities in dynamic environments.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation

The position offers an annual salary range between $75,000 and $85,000.
