Your Retreats is a prominent producer of custom luxury lodges and modular buildings, known for delivering projects of exceptional quality throughout the UK. As the company expands, it is seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement Buyer to join the team and contribute to its continued success.

Role Overview

The Procurement Buyer will manage sourcing of materials, negotiate with suppliers, and oversee stock levels to ensure seamless manufacturing operations. This role involves close coordination with multiple departments including Production, Design, Finance, and Operations to optimize costs, enhance supplier performance, and secure timely delivery of materials to meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and procure materials required for construction and manufacturing processes.
• Secure competitive quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier contracts.
• Raise and oversee purchase orders efficiently.
• Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Production and Planning teams to forecast material needs accurately.
• Ensure material deliveries align with production schedules.
• Address and resolve issues related to supply shortages, delays, and quality concerns.
• Seek opportunities for cost savings while maintaining product quality.
• Maintain detailed purchasing records and reporting.
• Support inventory management and stock control efforts.
• Continuously evaluate the supply chain to discover new suppliers and improvement opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Proven background in procurement or purchasing roles.
• Experience within sectors such as construction, manufacturing, modular building, timber framing, or joinery.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Capability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred qualifications and competencies:

• Experience purchasing construction materials.
• Familiarity with modular construction or luxury lodge manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP or MRP software systems.
• Possession of or progress towards a CIPS qualification.
