Role overview
DP World is hiring an Estimator / Pricing Analyst to support business growth by creating accurate, competitive, and timely pricing solutions for freight forwarding services. The position covers Air, Ocean, Road, Import, Export, and Cross-Border logistics, and works closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, Agents, Shipping Lines, Transporters, and other partners to build cost-effective quotations, tenders, RFQs, and RFIs.
This role is central to improving quote conversion, keeping pricing records current, analysing market intelligence, tracking competitor rates, and backing commercial decisions. It calls for strong analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, and solid knowledge of freight forwarding and supply chain operations.
Key performance areas
- Build precise and competitive cost estimates for Air, Ocean, Road, Import, and Export freight forwarding services.
- Prepare pricing inputs for RFQs, RFIs, tenders, and other new business opportunities, ensuring fast response times.
- Source competitive rates from airlines, shipping lines, transport providers, and overseas agents.
- Support commercial negotiations and pricing discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Work with Sales teams to assess opportunities and contribute to bid submissions.
- Design pricing approaches for strategic business opportunities and proposals.
- Draft pricing worksheets and keep pricing templates up to date.
- Support the submission of bids, tenders, and commercial offers.
- Maintain registers for pricing, rates, and estimates, and keep them updated.
- Record RFQ, RFI, and tender information in company systems.
- Ensure pricing data and market intelligence are captured accurately and stored properly.
- Manage freight, quotation, and rate databases with a focus on data integrity.
- Provide commercial support to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Communicate with customers, shipping lines, agents, customs authorities, transporters, and port authorities.
- Handle and resolve pricing questions from branches and operational teams.
- Build productive working relationships across the business and with external partners.
- Track quote conversion rates and assess how effective pricing is performing.
- Carry out pricing analysis and prepare feedback reports.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market movements to guide decision-making.
- Share regular pricing performance reports with management and business development teams.
- Review all estimates for quality and accuracy before they are issued.
- Follow company pricing rules, procedures, and standards.
- Look for ways to improve pricing tools, templates, workflows, and systems.
- Contribute to pricing models and system improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Commercial teams.
- Support knowledge sharing and guide less experienced colleagues when needed.
- Help build a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and strong customer service.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- A diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- KESRA training or an equivalent certification in customs and freight forwarding.
- Additional study in Logistics, Supply Chain, Freight Forwarding, or Commercial Management will be considered an advantage.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain, Customer Service, or Commercial Operations.
- Hands-on background in freight pricing, estimation, costing, or commercial support within logistics.
- Good understanding of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Road Freight, Customs Clearing, and Cross-Border logistics.
- Prior experience preparing RFQs, RFIs, tenders, and commercial proposals.
- Exposure to shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, customs authorities, and international agents.
- Practical knowledge of logistics and supply chain workflows.
- Experience in pricing analysis, market intelligence gathering, and competitor benchmarking is beneficial.
