About the Role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver based at the Abingdon Delivery Office (OX14 5AD). This permanent position offers a wage of £13.68 per hour paid monthly, with opportunities for paid overtime. You will work 37 hours weekly, spread over 5 days within a 7-day cycle including weekends, with shifts typically from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The role involves sorting and delivering letters and parcels across the local community using both vehicle and foot routes, providing a vital link between Royal Mail and its customers.

Key Responsibilities

Nature of Work

This job is active and physically demanding. You will be walking up to 12 miles per day, climbing stairs and hills, carrying mailbags weighing over 10 kilograms. Expect fast-paced and busy working days, especially during peak mailing periods.

Candidate Profile

• Holder of a full manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points, registered under current personal details
• Willingness and ability to drive Royal Mail vans daily, passing the driving assessment
• Physically fit, comfortable with long-distance walking and lifting mail bags
• Reliable, self-driven, organized, and resilient under pressure
• Customer-focused with pride in providing excellent service
• Comfortable working independently in outdoor conditions
