Overview
The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL is offering a remote internship for a Policy Researcher. This opportunity is designed for people interested in policy-focused research and writing across human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and similar areas.
The assignment runs for 8 weeks and is structured to help participants build practical skills in literature review, analytical writing, and policy drafting with guided supervision.
What You Will Do
- Review academic and policy literature on an approved topic related to policy, law, human rights, governance, or international relations.
- Write concise research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefs.
- Join online supervision or guidance sessions when needed.
- Develop a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report under supervision.
- Revise written material based on feedback and accepted research standards.
- Work to agreed timelines in a remote setting.
- Maintain ethical research practices, proper citation, originality, and academic integrity.
Who Can Apply
This internship is open to bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral students, as well as recent graduates, alumni, and early-career professionals who want exposure to research and policy analysis.
Candidates may come from law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, or other related disciplines.
What You Need
- Strong written English.
- Genuine interest in policy research, human rights, governance, law, or related subjects.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Comfort with deadlines and scheduled deliverables.
- Willingness to follow research methods and incorporate supervisor feedback.
Training and Process
Previous research publication experience is not required. Selected candidates will complete a 4-week methodology training period, followed by a 4-week research writing phase.
