Plant Utility Worker

Job Overview

This full-time plant utility role is based in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan, within a large lentil and pea processing facility. The position starts at an hourly wage of $24.00 and demands full compliance with safety and food safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive training with the objective to meet job performance expectations promptly.
• Be cross-trained across various operational roles to support operational flexibility.
• Progressively develop skills towards an Operator role, including handling machinery and troubleshooting safely.
• Perform general sanitation tasks in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to food safety.
• Uphold safety rules, GMP, HACCP standards, and food safety regulations.
• Engage in material handling and perform light maintenance duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent communication and ability to follow directions precisely.
• Capability to work safely and independently in a production environment.
• Physical ability to work at heights and perform activities like standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, and bending.
• Able to work under various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and wet settings.
• Willing to work shift work, including overtime and weekends.
• Basic computer skills, numeracy, and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Eligibility to work legally in Canada is mandatory; relocation support is not provided.
