About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Planner who excels in programme planning and scheduling for major infrastructure projects. This pivotal position involves the creation, management, and oversight of project timelines for nationally significant design and build infrastructure ventures across Ireland, including metro systems, aviation, rail, water, and highway developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously update comprehensive project schedules and programmes.
- Integrate phases such as design, procurement, and construction into unified, actionable plans.
- Track project progress against baseline schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Identify risks, delays, and critical path impacts, assisting with mitigation strategies.
- Create detailed programme reports, dashboards, and updates for all stakeholders.
- Support change management through thorough evaluation of programme implications.
- Assist in establishing programme controls, governance, and reporting systems.
- Evaluate contractor schedules to verify alignment with project expectations.
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams for realistic planning and sequence assumptions.
- Engage in scenario, what-if, and recovery planning activities as needed.
- Promote the adoption of planning best practices, tools, and systems.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in planning or scheduling roles on major infrastructure or construction projects such as metro, aviation, rail, water, or highway schemes.
- Strong grasp of programme planning principles, scheduling techniques, and project control mechanisms.
- Extensive proficiency in planning software like Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar tools.
- Competence in managing detailed, multi-phase project schedules.
- Knowledge of critical path analysis, progress measurement, and programme reporting standards.
- Expertise in reviewing contractor programmes and analyzing the effects of project changes.
- Excellent analytical abilities for interpreting programme data and identifying both risks and opportunities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills supporting collaboration across diverse teams.
- Highly organized and proactive with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Educational background in engineering, construction management, project management, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
This hybrid role requires attendance both on-site and at the office as necessary, predominantly for projects located in and around Dublin.
