Physical Education Teacher (Primary)

About the Role

We invite applications for a permanent Physical Education Teacher position at an esteemed academic institution in Doha, Qatar. Reporting directly to the Heads of PE and Primary, the role involves teaching both primary and secondary pupils, fostering a safe and motivational learning environment. Teachers will participate actively in extracurricular activities and school competitions such as QPPSSA, House events, and sports teams.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

• Set ambitious expectations to inspire and challenge students across various backgrounds and capabilities.
• Maintain a respectful and stimulating educational atmosphere rooted in mutual respect.
• Be accountable for student progress, attainment, and outcomes by utilizing thorough assessment methods.
• Use prior knowledge of pupils effectively to design lessons that build on existing skills and understanding.
• Promote reflective practices among students concerning their academic progress and needs.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and ensure curriculum delivery engages and motivates pupils.
• Create well-structured lessons that promote intellectual curiosity and assign relevant homework to reinforce learning.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education needs, high ability, or English as an additional language.
• Employ formative and summative assessment data to monitor progress, set targets, and tailor future lessons.
• Establish and enforce classroom behavior expectations and cultivate courteous, disciplined student conduct per school policies.

• Contribute positively to the school community through extracurricular engagement and collaborative teamwork.
• Manage support staff effectively, engage in professional development, and communicate progress and welfare matters with parents.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in teaching from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• Must possess the required teaching certification approved by Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
• A minimum of three years' relevant teaching experience is expected.
• Proficiency in English is required.
