About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist II for a fully remote position requiring availability during 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. This is a contract-to-hire role with a workload of 40 hours per week. The team will conduct a single interview round.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide employee support addressing payroll-related inquiries.
  • Manage ADP Workforce Now functions including W-2 retrieval and password resets.
  • Enter and process employee time data into ADP system.
  • Generate payroll and historical reports accurately and timely.
  • Assist with workers' compensation audits.
  • Process payroll data such as time & attendance, paid time off, mileage, and reimbursements.
  • Conduct audits of payroll entries for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to wage and hour regulations within a multi-state automated payroll setting.

Requirements and Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of contemporary payroll experience are essential.
  • At least 2 years recent hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Minimum 2 years recent practical experience with Empower (401k) system.
  • Comprehensive understanding of benefit elections and deferrals.
  • Proficiency in multi-state payroll tax management including state withholding, unemployment taxes, and year-end processing.
  • Expertise with W-2 forms, 1095-Cs, 401(k) catch-up contributions, payroll auditing, workers' compensation, Department of Labor compliance, and unemployment audits.
  • Outstanding reporting capabilities and loan processing knowledge.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Familiarity with Canadian payroll systems and currency.
