Overview
Our client is looking for a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join their expanding team, taking full responsibility for payroll management across their UK operations. This role offers an exciting chance for a dedicated payroll expert passionate about precision, compliance, and enhancing payroll processes within a global company.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the UK HR Director, the candidate will handle comprehensive payroll activities for multiple UK entities. This involves using Workday as the primary payroll system, collaborating with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to ensure timely, accurate payroll processing aligned with UK legal standards. The role also includes supporting payroll audits, resolving queries, and ensuring excellent employee service.
The specialist will serve as the go-to expert for payroll, leading efforts to improve processes, maximize Workday capabilities, minimize manual work, and support integration of various payroll functions into a cohesive managed service. They will drive the standardization of payroll workflows and maintain strict governance and control measures.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have demonstrable hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll in the UK, with a solid grasp of HMRC regulations, PAYE, pensions, and statutory obligations, alongside practical Workday expertise. Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential, as well as the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal stakeholders.
Experience working with outsourced payroll service providers, involvement in payroll modernization projects, handling mergers and acquisitions, or holding a Certified Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification would be considered advantageous.
