Overview
The Patient Scheduling Representative is responsible for engaging with patients and healthcare provider offices via phone and messaging to arrange patient appointments efficiently. This role involves completing administrative tasks essential for scheduling, encompassing managing inbound and outbound communications, processing work queues, selecting appropriate appointment types, and accurately inputting demographic and insurance details. Serving as a communication bridge between patients, the local community, and healthcare professionals, the position demands strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure exceptional customer service delivery. The representative supports WakeMed patients by organizing outpatient services and physician appointment schedules. This position operates within a call center environment that manages both incoming and outgoing interactions, collaborates with clinical personnel in physician offices and outpatient services, and performs task-oriented duties. The workplace is characterized by high volume, rapid pace, and a focus on performance metrics.
