Role Overview

The Pastry Chef de Partie (CDP) position is a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Al Qasim, Saudi Arabia. The role encompasses the preparation, baking, and finishing of an assortment of pastries, desserts, and baked items in line with set recipes and presentation criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain the pastry workstation for efficient operation.
  • Accurately measure and blend ingredients as per recipes.
  • Monitor baking durations and oven temperatures to ensure product consistency.
  • Ensure quality control for all pastries and desserts produced.
  • Collaborate proactively with kitchen staff and assist with menu creation.
  • Oversee stock rotation and assist with ingredient procurement.
  • Maintain rigorous hygiene and safety standards following kitchen protocols.
  • Support smooth service flow during peak times.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in bakery and pastry preparation, including breads and desserts.
  • Proficient cooking skills to manage pastry preparations and support the main kitchen when necessary.
  • Creativity in designing and presenting attractive and innovative pastry items.
  • Strong understanding and application of food safety, cleanliness, and proper ingredient storage.
  • Previous experience in a professional pastry or bakery environment, ideally at the Commis or CDP level.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic kitchen setting and follow recipes precisely.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management capabilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including shifts, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
  • Possession of a relevant culinary or pastry qualification or diploma is advantageous.
