About the Role
Tata Consultancy Services is looking for a Passenger Revenue Accounting - Refunds specialist in Mumbai. This role focuses on processing airline refund cases, updating BSP records, and handling refund-related accounting work within a rotational 24/7 shift setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Take in refund requests coming through BSP download requests and document the relevant details accurately.
- Carry out refund calculations and update BSP with the final amounts computed.
- After approval, ensure the appropriate credit is issued to the passenger or staff member.
Domain Knowledge Needed
- Strong understanding of PNR reading, including PNR details, PNR history, and interpretation of remarks.
- Exposure to refunds processing through BSP, ARC, and GDS systems.
- Ability to work with Amadeus PNR cases and refund requests routed through BSP links.
- Knowledge of refund rules, refund calculations, and handling of non-refundable taxes.
- Familiarity with interpreting tax information in Amadeus.
- Experience in refund work within a travel agency, airline, GDS, travel portal, or back-office refund process is preferred.
- Fare filing and fare auditing knowledge is an added advantage, though not compulsory.
- IATA UFTAA certification or a Diploma in Travel and Tourism is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of ticketing formats paid through cash or credit card.
- Comfort with MS Office and other standard desktop tools.
- Understanding of over-refund and under-refund procedures.
- Capability to manage refund calculations for exchanges, partial refunds, and downgrade scenarios.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
- Shift schedule is rotational and operates 24/7.
